Who We Are
Welcome to First Steps First Aid Ltd
First Steps First Aid was founded in 2022 by husband-and-wife team Jack and Charlotte Boaden – both experienced Paramedics with a shared passion for building safer, more confident communities.
After years on the front line of emergency care, Jack and Charlotte saw first-hand the difference that early, effective first aid can make. They recognised a gap between traditional training models and the real-world skills people need when the unexpected happens. Determined to bridge that gap, they set out to create a training provider where genuine experts – registered Paramedics and emergency professionals – deliver high-quality, hands-on education directly to the heart of businesses, schools, and organisations.
At First Steps First Aid, our mission is simple: to raise first aid standards and empower everyday people to act with confidence in an emergency. We pride ourselves on delivering engaging, up-to-date, and practical training that reflects real scenarios, not just checklists.
Giving back sits at the core of who we are.
As a company built by Paramedics, we believe first aid knowledge should strengthen the communities we serve. We regularly support local initiatives, partner with community groups, and provide resources to help schools, charities, and small organisations access life-saving skills. Our goal is not only to teach first aid, but to make a meaningful, lasting difference to the wellbeing and resilience of the areas we work in.
Today, First Steps First Aid continues to grow – but our values remain the same: professional, reliable, and community-focused training delivered by experts who genuinely care.

A Word From the Founders
Hi! I’m Charlotte and I founded First Steps First Aid alongside my Husband, Jack. I have absolutely loved my career as a Paramedic and have contributed over 10 years to the NHS within my various roles.
My Career as a Paramedic started in 2012, after several years as a Paramedic I decided to further train as an Emergency Care Practitioner and since then have worked in various settings as a Paramedic Practitioner which include the Ambulance Service, a GP surgery and an Urgent Treatment Centre.
Within my role as a Paramedic, I have seen first hand just how vital having the skills to be able to provide first aid and basic life support can be.
I wanted to build a company that provides high quality first aid training that can meet industry standards at all times. That is why all of our trainers have to have experience in emergency medicine. We have found this has ensured that within our courses, all questions can be answered, a calm and thorough approach and more often than not they have encountered most “worst case scenarios” so can apply training needs to every setting.
I am so pleased with what we have achieved so far, our paramedic instructors really do make a difference! Learning from experts in the field means businesses can help create workplaces that feel confident and capable when dealing with any first aid emergency.
Outside of running my business, I have 3 little girls who I absolutely love getting outdoors with! I’m hoping one day we can add a dog to our family so if you ever see my business partner, Jack - please do put in a good word!
I am incredibly passionate about giving parents the knowledge they need to help their little ones should an emergency ever arise and feel strongly that this should be available to everyone. Times are hard and I’m aware not everyone is able to afford a parent and baby first aid course. Part of our mission is to provide as many free first aid courses for parents as possible.
I’m so excited for the future of First Steps First Aid and feel privileged to have worked with so many incredible people so far!
Our Mission
At First Steps First Aid, we believe everyone deserves the confidence to save a life. That’s why we’ve set an ambitious mission: to deliver FREE BLS/AED training to 100,000 people across the UK.
This is our way of giving back and supporting the communities we proudly serve. Please help us make this vision a reality — share our mission and help us reach even more people.
What Makes us Different?
Experienced Paramedics
Our instructors have years of front line experience working as Paramedics. This is what sets us apart and this is why our courses are both educational and engaging. Our instructors are able to use real world examples and scenarios to help impart their knowledge.
Instructors and Assessors
Not only do we deliver up to date, quality information and advise for first aiders, we do so using the latest teaching and assessing techniques. Emergencies can be daunting and our instructors take pride in coming away form every session knowing that all staff feel educated and confident to step up. Our clients report feeling so much more confident after completing the classes and this is exactly what we aim for!
The Best Equipment
We have invested in getting a wide range of quality training defibrillators and mannequins to allow us to simulate any scenario and get all the class involved. Our range of training defibs means that often we are able to use the version of defib that you store at your place of work or potentially in the community. The really helps people feel confident in using them should then need to.
